WGRF announces new executive director

The Western Grains Analysis Basis (WGRF) has introduced the substitute for Garth Patterson, who’s retiring from his submit as govt director of the group after 11 years.

Wayne Thompson will step into Patterson’s function on December 1, 2022.

“We’re happy to welcome Wayne to his new function with WGRF,” says WGRF board chair Dr. Keith Degenhardt. “We consider Wayne’s background and expertise in agriculture analysis and his schooling make him uniquely suited to function the WGRF Government Director.”

Thompson has been the manager director of the Saskatchewan Flax Growth Fee for the previous eight years and president of the Flax Council of Canada for the previous two years. Previous to that, Thompson labored as a Analysis Program Supervisor for WGRF. He has additionally held earlier positions with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture within the Coverage Department and was the manager director of the Saskatchewan Canola Growers Affiliation.

“I want to thank the Board of Administrators for this thrilling alternative,” says Thompson. “I’m trying ahead to the problem. I’ve an engaged group of administrators and an incredible workforce within the workplace to work with. WGRF is a frontrunner in agriculture analysis, and I’ll work to make sure that WGRF continues to fund crop analysis to profit western Canadian grain farmers.”

The WGRF board can be thanking Patterson for his work over the previous 11 years, as WGRF grew into the biggest producer-funder of crop analysis in Canada.
